All a DJ needs
Prepare Your Music for the Party with Rekordbox
Rekordbox, developed by Pioneer, is a DJ software designed for users of the company’s DJ equipment (CDJs) who want to streamline playlist management and utilize specific features. With Rekordbox, DJs can create their own playlists or use those from iTunes, process their files, and export their set to a mobile device for later access on CDJs. The program is available for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.
The main appeal of the software is its beatgrid feature, which allows DJs to align beats precisely in the grid. With all tracks processed, DJs can mix with greater accuracy and synchronization. Additionally, Rekordbox enables the creation of CUE Points, which are markers used as shortcuts for navigating various points within a track while it plays. DJs can also set the starting point for when a track is loaded. Another advantage is that CDJs can load processed tracks and their grid with much faster and greater ease. The software also allows the configuration of multiple loops, active or not, which will be interpreted by Pioneer CDJs.
Once editing is complete, simply export the playlist to a USB drive or SD card. This storage device is useful for DJs to bring their music and preferences to any event, even if they are using different equipment. It is important to note that you only need to process the music once, and it will be updated across all playlists where it is used. In addition to native integration with iTunes, the software is also compatible with Mixed in Key, featuring a dedicated area to display the musical key.
