Martijn Gerard Garritsen (born May 14, 1996, in Amstelveen), better known by his stage name Martin Garrix, is a Dutch producer, DJ, and remixer. He gained prominence, particularly with his track “Animals,” which topped music charts in over ten countries and has garnered over 1 billion views on YouTube. Martin Garrix was discovered by a Dutch DJ and signed a contract with Spinnin’ Records, where he released various remixes and major hits, including the single “Wizard” with Jay Hardway, “Animals,” “Gold Skies” with Sander Van Doorn, DVBBS, and Aleesia, “BFAM” with Julian Jordan, “Virus (How About Now)” with MOTi, “Helicopter” with Firebeatz, “Proxy,” “Tremor” with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, which was a global success in 2014. In 2016, he released the single “In the Name of Love,” which topped global charts and reinstated him among the most played artists on the Billboard Hot 100.

Martin Garrix is ranked as the number 1 DJ in the world by the specialized magazine “DJ Mag.” In 2013, at the age of 17, Garrix debuted on the Top 100 DJs list, securing the 40th position. Subsequent years of significant success led him to achieve 4th and 3rd positions in 2014 and 2015, respectively. In 2016, he claimed the 1st position in the ranking, becoming the youngest DJ to achieve this feat at the age of 20. He maintained the top spot in 2017 and 2018, dropped to 2nd place in 2019, ranked 3rd in 2020, and secured the 2nd position in 2021. In 2022, the year he released his first album titled ‘Sentio,’ he reclaimed the 1st place.
